Branding Photographer

Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Nicole Wilson, and I’m a native New Yorker, award-winning internationally published photographer, artist, and creative director based in New York City. My work spans celebrity and editorial portraiture, Broadway and theatre, live performance, fashion and beauty, headshots, personal branding, and entertainment photography.

At the heart of my work is a love of visual storytelling and human connection. Whether I’m photographing a Broadway performer, celebrity, artist, executive, or someone stepping in front of the camera for the first time, I aim to create imagery that feels elevated, expressive, and authentic while making the experience itself relaxed, collaborative, and genuinely enjoyable.

My photography has been featured in some of the world’s leading fashion, entertainment, and theatrical publications, including VOGUE, PEOPLE, Harper’s BAZAAR, GQ, WWD, ELLE, Forbes, Entertainment Weekly, Rolling Stone, The New York Times, Vanity Fair, The Wall Street Journal, Playbill, Broadway.com, BroadwayWorld, Deadline, L’Officiel, Marie Claire, GRAZIA, and NUMÉRO, among many others.

My clients range from actors, celebrities, Broadway performers, artists, executives, and personal brands to luxury brands, leading entertainment and theatrical PR firms, and major media and entertainment companies. I also work closely with individuals looking to create distinctive headshots, portraits, and personal branding imagery that reflects who they are and where they’re going.

My aesthetic blends a polished editorial sensibility with an instinct for natural beauty, raw emotion, rich texture, and vibrant color. I’m constantly exploring new ideas and evolving creatively, but what matters most to me has remained the same: creating photographs that feel alive and making every person I photograph feel seen.

Each shoot holds special meaning to me, and I feel incredibly fortunate to wake up every day doing what I love.

My Story

I’m a native New Yorker who grew up immersed in the arts and entertainment world. Creativity runs in my family, with artists, actors, and renowned musicians on both sides. I was raised in Manhattan Plaza, the legendary artists’ community in the heart of New York City’s Theater District, where I grew up surrounded by working artists and the Broadway community.

My father was a Broadway actor, my mother is a psychologist specializing in the emotional lives of artists, and my sister is a Grammy-winning producer and director. From an early age, my parents exposed me to an incredible range of artistic experiences, instilling in me a lifelong love of the arts. That upbringing shaped not only my appreciation for live performance, photography, and fine art, but also my deep connection to artists and the stories they tell.

Before pursuing photography, I worked professionally as a visual artist and in the film and television industry, both in front of and behind the camera. My background as an artist gave me a strong instinct for color, composition, and portraiture, while my experience in filmmaking taught me about lighting, location, collaboration, and visual storytelling. Photography became a natural way to bring all of those creative worlds together.

Today, photography allows me to do what I love most: connect with people, tell their stories, celebrate artists and individuals of all kinds, and create beautiful, meaningful images that last.

When I’m not behind the camera, you’ll often find me strumming folk or Broadway tunes on my ukulele, cycling through New York City, catching a Broadway show or concert, or walking my dogs through Central Park.

My Clients

I’m passionate about working with people from all walks of life, from actors, performers, artists, models, and public figures to professionals and individuals looking to create beautiful, meaningful images of themselves. My goal is always to capture what makes someone distinctive and help them feel confident, comfortable, and genuinely themselves in front of the camera.

I understand how vulnerable it can feel to be photographed, particularly for those stepping in front of the camera for the first time. I strive to create a relaxed, supportive, and collaborative environment built on trust and communication, allowing us to create images together that feel both elevated and authentic.

Live performance photography is also a significant part of my work. With extensive experience photographing Broadway and theatre, concerts, dance, and live events, I’ve developed an instinct for anticipating the moments that tell the story: the emotion, movement, energy, and connection that make a performance come alive. I regularly photograph artists and productions at many of New York City’s most celebrated venues, including Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, Madison Square Garden, Radio City Music Hall, The Town Hall, 54 Below, The Green Room 42, Joe’s Pub, City Winery, The Beacon Theatre, Birdland, Chelsea Table + Stage, and more.

For brands, entertainment companies, PR firms, and businesses, I create impactful imagery designed to tell a cohesive story and elevate a brand, artist, production, or campaign. As a Creative Director, I can oversee the creative process from concept through execution, including editorial, fashion, key art, portraiture, and branded content.

Based in New York City, I work with clients worldwide and am available for travel. Custom quotes are available upon request.

Thank you for your interest in my work. I look forward to creating something wonderful together!
